Menjadi Pemuda Harus Berpikir Cerdas
ASEP RAHMATULLAH, KETUA DPRD BANTEN
Di masa sekolah Asep Rahmatullah, yang saat ini menjadi Ketua Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Provinsi Banten ini, sudah menunjukan bakat untuk menjadi pemimpin.
Hal ini ditandai dengan secara berturut-turut selama tiga tahun sejak kelas satu, dia sudah menjadi ketua kelas di sekolahnya, di Kota Kembang, Bandung.
Dilingkungan sekolah tinggi menegah (STM) di Pajajaran, Bandung, Jawa Barat, nama Asep pada masa itu, sangat dikenal. Terlebih di komplek perumahan Cijerah, tempat lahirnya sejumlah artis-artis papan atas, seperti Harimukti dan Dedi Stanza yang kala itu merupakan teman bermainnya.
Saat ditanya apakah punya pengalaman remaja yang tidak terlupakan hingga saat ini, umpamanya pernah diputusi pacar dan lain sebagainya. Dengan bercanda Asep menjawab, tidar pernah diputusi pacar, bahkan justru sering mutusi pacar.
Saat remaja suami Dewi Setiawati yang pencinta sepak bola dan juga penggemar music band ini, sudah mengagumi Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDI-P). Menurutnya, untuk merubah sesuatu di negeri ini, seseorang harus berada dalam sebuah sistem, salah satunya adalah menjadi kader partai.
Melalui partai kata Asep, seseorang dapat menjadi anggota dewan perwakilan rakyat (DPR), yang melahirkan berbagai produk hukum, hak control terhadap pemerintah serta budgeting. Itulah sebabnya kata Asep, saat ada kesempatan, dia mulai masuk menjadi kader tetap di partai banteng moncong putih pimpinan Megawati Soekarnoputri itu.
Sebagai ayah dari Muhammad Khadafi, M Akbar Ramadhan dan Shabila Mahadewi tentu juga harus memberikan motivasi terhadap tiga putra-putrinya itu. Soal memberikan motivasi tidak hanya diberikan kepada putra-putri pribadi, kata Asep, tetapi juga kepada seluruh pemuda di Banten.
Menurut Asep, pemuda harus berpikir cerdas. Menggunakan segala kemampuan berpikir untuk kemajuan bersama untuk kemaslahatan, akan menjadikan seseorang diperhitungkan oleh banyak orang. (Wisnu)
